Product Overview
Metalworking dust collector is a dedusting unit designed for local dust and fume at a single metalworking station or local area. It covers metal cutting, grinding, polishing, and welding operations. Metalworking dust typically has fine particle size, abrasiveness, and possible oil mist content. The equipment consists of suction hood, duct, filter unit, fan, and dust collection device. Dust is captured locally at the generating station and transported to the filter unit; clean gas is discharged or returned to the workshop. It is suitable for machining workshops, metal products factories, mold factories, and auto parts processing where dust sources are at workstation level.

Process Matching & Shopfloor Layout
• Grinding and polishing: enclosed or semi-enclosed hoods are used at the grinding wheel or polishing station. Hood opening size is matched to the wheel diameter and dust generation direction.
• Welding: universal suction arm is used at the welding station. The hood is positioned according to the welding torch angle so that fume is captured before entering the welder's breathing zone.
• Laser cutting: follow-up hood is used at the cutting head. Hood position follows the cutting path to capture fume at the source.
• Cutting and sawing: local hood or partial enclosure is used at the cutting point, with duct connection to the filter unit.
• Oil mist: if cutting fluid generates oil mist, an oil mist pre-filter unit can be installed before the dust filter section. The pre-filter separates oil mist first, and the dust filter section then handles solid particles.
• Shopfloor layout: the unit is placed close to the workstation to keep duct length short. For multiple stations requiring centralized ducting and large total air volume, an industrial metal dust collector can be compared.

Quality Control
Hood-to-duct connection is checked for sealing. Hopper weld seams are checked for sealing. Before bag or cartridge installation, bag top fixation and cartridge end cap sealing are checked. 100% powered test run before packing, confirming fan and discharge action. Third-party inspection accepted. The factory has supplied this unit to furniture, panel cutting, and metal profile cutting workshops, and uses this field data to match hopper volume and hood type.
FAQ
Q: Can one metalworking dust collector serve multiple processes?
A: It depends on total air volume and duct layout. If the processes are at adjacent stations with small total air volume, one unit can serve several operations with branch ducts. If stations are far apart or total air volume is large, separate units or a centralized system should be compared.
Q: How to choose between metalworking dust collector and industrial metal dust collector?
A: product is for workstation-level or local area dust and fume, with short duct connection. Industrial metal dust collector is for centralized ducting across many stations with large total air volume. Select based on the number of workstations, total air volume, and duct length.
