Environmental protection equipment comprises mechanical products, structures, and systems designed to control environmental pollution and improve environmental quality. According to the *Classification and Naming of Environmental Protection Equipment (HJ/T11-1996)*, this category encompasses equipment for water pollution control, air pollution control, solid waste treatment and disposal, and noise and vibration control, among others. Its composition is categorized into standalone units (such as dust collectors and reactors), complete sets of equipment (including auxiliary components like fans and motors), and production lines (integrated systems interconnected by pipelines); its functional scope covers core environmental protection machinery, conveying equipment, monitoring and testing instrumentation, and pipeline accessories.

In 2024, the output value of my country's environmental protection equipment manufacturing industry reached 920 billion RMB, while the value of export deliveries rose by 1.8% year-on-year to 39.2 billion RMB. Guided by the *Opinions on Promoting the High-Quality Development of the Environmental Protection Equipment Manufacturing Industry*, the sector has driven technological upgrades, fostering regional clusters in areas such as the Circum-Bohai Sea, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Pearl River Delta-a pattern characterized by a "One Belt, One Axis" spatial layout-and has cultivated a cohort of 358 enterprises meeting established industry standards. The technology employed in this equipment spans internationally leading fields-such as ultra-low emission control for coal-fired power units and high-temperature flue gas filtration-and is deeply integrated with next-generation information technologies, including the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and 5G. Industry plans outline objectives to address and resolve weak links within key industrial chains by 2027, and to achieve both technological self-reliance and a simultaneous enhancement in scale and quality by 2030.
