Ammonia Wet Scrubber

Ammonia wet scrubber is a wet purification device specifically for waste gas containing ammonia (NH₃). Ammonia is highly soluble in water, forming ammonia solution with alkalinity. The scrubber uses acid spray (typically sulfuric acid solution); ammonia reacts with acid to form ammonium salt, which is discharged with the liquid. The tower body is made of PP or fiberglass, with packing layer and spray layer inside. It is suitable for ammonia waste gas treatment in fertilizer plants, farms, wastewater treatment stations, and chemical workshops.

• Acid spray neutralizes ammonia, fast reaction. Ammonia and sulfuric acid solution neutralization reaction is fast; purification efficiency depends on gas-liquid contact. Packing layer provides gas-liquid contact area; empty tower gas velocity controlled at 2.4–2.7 m/s, ensuring ammonia is fully absorbed when passing through the packing layer.
• Designed for ammonia high solubility gas-liquid contact. Ammonia has extremely high solubility in water; after gas-liquid contact, it dissolves quickly and is neutralized by acid. Multi-layer packing and uniform spray ensure ammonia removal efficiency meets emission requirements.
• PP material is corrosion-resistant to ammonia water and acid solution. Tower body and piping are made of PP, corrosion-resistant to ammonia water and sulfuric acid solution, extending equipment service life.
• Mist eliminator reduces ammonium salt droplet entrainment. Mist eliminator at tower top captures entrained droplets, reducing ammonium salt solution corrosion on downstream ducts and fan.
• If waste gas contains both ammonia and dust, a pre-dedusting device is recommended before the scrubber to avoid packing layer blockage.

After tower welding, weld seam sealing is checked. Packing filling density is confirmed. Spray system is tested for spray uniformity. 100% powered test run before packing, confirming spray and circulation system. Third-party inspection accepted. The factory has supplied this equipment to fertilizer, farm, and wastewater treatment projects, and uses this field data to set acid concentration and packing layer quantity for ammonia absorption.
