Product Overview
Wet scrubber packing material is the tower packing installed inside a scrubber, used to provide gas-liquid contact area so that pollutants in waste gas are captured by absorption liquid on the packing surface. Packing is installed on the support plate inside the tower, forming a packing layer of a certain height. Waste gas passes upward through the packing layer; absorption liquid flows downward along the packing surface; gas and liquid contact counter-currently on the packing surface for mass transfer. Common packings include Pall ring, multi-faceted hollow ball, and Raschig ring.

Selection & Comparison Notes
• Pall ring has two rows of windows with inward tongues on the ring wall; gas and liquid redistribute inside the ring through the windows. Compared with Raschig ring, handling capacity can be increased by more than 50%, pressure drop reduced by half at the same handling capacity, and mass transfer efficiency increased by about 20%.
• Plastic Pall ring void ratio 89%–93%, large gas flow channel, low dry packing factor. Low pressure drop in scrubber reduces matched fan energy consumption.
• Material selection by waste gas temperature: PP ≤100°C; RPP (glass fiber reinforced PP) ≤130°C; CPVC ≤110°C; PVDF ≤150°C. Ceramic packing temperature resistance ≥1300°C, acid and alkali corrosion resistant. Metal packing (304/316L stainless steel) for high temperature and organic solvent conditions.

Quality Control
Packing is inspected on arrival for material, size, and appearance, confirming no damage or deformation. Ceramic packing is checked for cracks and chipped corners. Plastic packing is checked for injection molding quality. Batch sampling for size and wall thickness measurement. Third-party inspection accepted. The factory has supplied packing to acid mist scrubbers, alkali spray towers, and desulfurization towers, and uses this field data to match material and size to waste gas temperature and corrosiveness.

Q: How to choose between PP packing and ceramic packing?
A: PP packing is light, not easily broken, and lower cost, applicable temperature ≤100°C. Ceramic packing temperature resistance ≥1300°C, resistant to strong acid (except hydrofluoric acid) and strong alkali, but heavy and fragile. If waste gas temperature exceeds 100°C or contains strongly corrosive media, ceramic is preferred; for ambient temperature conditions, PP is preferred.
Q: What packing layer height is suitable?
A: Packing layer height depends on waste gas concentration and purification efficiency requirements. Generally, single-layer packing height is 1–2 times tower diameter. If higher purification efficiency is required, multi-layer packing can be set, with liquid redistributor between layers.
