Product Overview
Industrial scrubbers and electrostatic precipitators are two types of industrial waste gas treatment equipment with different principles, which can be selected separately or combined according to waste gas characteristics and emission requirements. Industrial scrubber (wet scrubber) transfers pollutants in waste gas to the liquid phase through gas-liquid contact, suitable for acid-base gas, dust-laden waste gas, and oil-laden waste gas. Electrostatic precipitator (ESP) uses a high-voltage electric field to charge dust, separating dust from the gas flow by electric field force, suitable for high-temperature flue gas and high dust concentration, especially for large air volume conditions.

Selection & Comparison Notes
• Scrubber handles acid-base gas; ESP handles high-temperature and high-dust conditions. Scrubber uses alkali or acid spray to neutralize acid-base components; ESP operates at high temperature (up to 300°C or above) and high dust concentration, with high capture efficiency for submicron particles. The two work in different stages according to waste gas characteristics.
• Combined system for complex flue gas conditions. For flue gas containing acid gas and high dust concentration (such as waste incineration and coal-fired boilers), scrubber can be used first to remove acid components and part of the dust, then ESP to capture remaining fine dust. The system treats in stages, each giving full play to its advantages.
• ESP has low resistance and low operating energy consumption. ESP body resistance is usually below 300 Pa, much lower than baghouse. Under large air volume conditions, induced draft fan power consumption is significantly reduced, suitable for continuous operation of large industrial boilers and kilns.
• Scrubber packing optional, adapting to different waste gas. Scrubber packing can be PP Pall ring, multi-faceted hollow ball, or ceramic packing, selected by waste gas temperature and corrosiveness. Empty tower gas velocity controlled at 2.4–2.7 m/s; liquid-gas ratio designed at 1.3–3 L/m³.
• If emission requirements are strict, a baghouse can be added after ESP as a fine dedusting stage.

Quality Control
Scrubber tower weld seams are checked for sealing. ESP plate spacing is measured row by row to ensure uniform electric field. High-voltage power supply and control system are powered tested. 100% system joint debugging before packing. Third-party inspection accepted. The factory has supplied combined scrubber and ESP systems to waste incineration and coal-fired boiler projects, and uses this field data to match scrubber tower diameter and ESP electric field quantity to flue gas conditions.
FAQ
Q: How to choose between scrubber and electrostatic precipitator?
A: If waste gas contains acid-base components or gas pollutants need to be removed simultaneously, scrubber is preferred. If waste gas temperature is high, dust concentration is large, and particulate matter is the main pollutant, ESP is preferred. For complex flue gas, the two can be combined.
Q: How efficient is ESP for fine dust?
A: ESP has high capture efficiency for submicron particles and low body pressure loss, suitable for large air volume conditions. If emission requirements are strict, a baghouse can be added after ESP as a fine dedusting stage.
