Packed Tower Gas Scrubbers

The Packed Tower Gas Scrubbers are the basic tower configuration in our wet scrubber line. The tower is filled with Pall rings, Raschig rings, or Intalox saddles. The packing provides a large contact area between gas and liquid. The pollutants are absorbed or neutralized by the scrubbing liquid. Our Packed Tower Gas Scrubbers have five main parts. These are the tower body, packing layer, spray system, circulation tank, and mist eliminator. Gas enters from the bottom and flows upward. Liquid sprays down from the top. The two streams mix in the packing layer. The mist eliminator at the top removes liquid droplets from the clean gas.

The tower material of the Packed Tower Gas Scrubbers can be PP, FRP, or 304/316 stainless steel. The choice is based on gas corrosiveness and temperature. Tower diameter ranges from 0.5 to 4 meters. Airflow covers 3,000 to 100,000 m³/h. For a PCB plant's acid mist scrubber, the inlet HCl concentration was about 150mg/m³. After caustic scrubbing, the outlet dropped to below 5mg/m³. The removal rate was over 96%. The unit has run for six years. We only added packing twice and changed spray nozzles once. Maintenance cost has been very low. We complete all tower fabrication and assembly in our 4,000-square-meter factory. We test for air-tightness and spray system performance before shipment.

The Packed Tower Gas Scrubbers are customized for each application. Tower diameter is calculated from your airflow. Tower height is based on the required contact time. Packing type is selected for your gas composition. Spray nozzles are designed for the tower size and liquid distribution. The material is chosen for corrosion and temperature resistance.
